Unfortunately the engine let go on lap three of four at this years Primm 300. When the motor broke Jake and I were topped out at 8400 RPM and traveling 104 MPH. We were very lucky that the motor did not “lock up” allowing me to keep control of the car coasting to a clean stop.
Prior to the engine failure we had a good race going despite two flat tires caused by dented wheels. Primm is a very rocky track and it’s virtually impossible to avoid every rock and carry your momentum at the same time.
On the bright side, we were actually in front of the eventual winner when the motor let go. It’s always nice to know you had a chance.
